Your routes to the Lido

Pick the line based on where you start and how scenic you want the ride.

Line 1 — scenic via Grand Canal

From Piazzale Roma right through the Grand Canal to Lido S.M.E. — about 1 hour 15 minutes. Slow, but you see the city on the way. Best as a sightseeing route after an afternoon at the beach.

Lines 5.1 / 5.2 — the outer ring

Faster than Line 1. From Ferrovia or Piazzale Roma, the 5.1 swings around outside the historic centre to Lido in about 45 minutes. 5.2 goes the other way. Every 20 minutes.

Line 6 — the express

Monday to Friday only (06:21–20:52), Line 6 goes from Piazzale Roma to Lido S.M.E. in around 30 minutes via Zattere and the Giardini. The quickest weekday option.

Line 14 — from San Marco

From San Marco-San Zaccaria to Lido S.M.E. is about 10–15 minutes on Line 14 (the bigger motonave boat). Continues on to Punta Sabbioni.
