From Fondamente Nove to Murano Faro, Mazzorbo, Burano and Torcello-on-request. Every 20 minutes during the day. The reason most visitors buy a 72-hour Vaporetto ticket.
Line 12
Line 12 — main line Murano-Burano-Torcello
Line 12 is the workhorse of the northern lagoon. From Fondamente Nove "A" pontoon it crosses to Murano Faro, then on to Mazzorbo (Burano's wine-and-vineyard island), Torcello (on request only) and Burano itself. In the evening the line extends to Treporti and Punta Sabbioni. Day round trip Fondamente Nove to Burano: about 1h30 plus your stops.
Catch Line 12 at Fondamente Nove around 09:00. Murano Faro in 35 minutes, walk Murano for 90 minutes, back on Line 12 to Burano (35 min more), lunch, walk Burano, optional Torcello on request, and back by 18:00.
Late afternoon Line 12 to Burano. Walk the painted-house alleys without the day-trippers. Catch a sunset boat back to Fondamente Nove and dinner in Cannaregio.
Torcello stops only on request — call 800 845 065 at least 20 minutes before, or alight at Burano and take the short Line 9 shuttle. Worth it for the cathedral mosaics and the empty fields.
Line 12 is the door to the northern lagoon — the four most-loved island destinations of Venice on one route.
Closest stop to the glass workshops and the Murano glass museum. Watch glass-blowing demonstrations and walk the colourful canal.
A quiet wine-and-vineyard island connected to Burano by a footbridge. Venissa, the Michelin restaurant, sits inside the vineyard.
The famously painted fishing-village island. Best in early morning or late afternoon. Lace museum, sardine sandwiches, photo opportunities everywhere.
The almost-empty island with a 7th-century Byzantine cathedral — extraordinary mosaics. Request the stop or transfer via Line 9 from Burano.
In the evening some Line 12 boats continue to Treporti and Punta Sabbioni — the gateway to the Cavallino-Treporti beaches.
About 45 minutes from Fondamente Nove to Burano, including the Murano Faro and Mazzorbo stops. Direct from Murano Faro to Burano: around 30 minutes.
Two options. Either Line 12 with a pre-booked Torcello stop (call ACTV at 800 845 065 at least 20 minutes before), or stay on Line 12 to Burano and switch to the short Line 9 shuttle (every 15 minutes, 5-minute ride).
Every 20 minutes during the day, every 30 minutes early morning and late evening. From about 04:20 to 22:25 from Fondamente Nove.
Yes. Every Vaporetto ticket — 75-minute single, 24h, 48h, 72h or 7-day — includes Line 12. The 75-minute single is enough for a one-way ride; round-trip you want a day ticket.
